The purposes for which the TTKF was founded are: to promote and regulate
karate at an educational, ethical and sports level; to contribute and to ensure the
education and to consolidate the psycho-physical integrity of its members.
Consequently, TTKF shall engage in all the appropriate activities and initiatives
to achieve the foregoing intentions.
The goal of the “Trinidad and Tobago Karate Federation” is:
1. To be a National platform for the open-minded karate-ka of all styles.
We believe that an individual’s good moral character and a passion for true
karate-do are more important than an affiliation to a karate style
2. To accept people from all parts of Trinidad and Tobago and other
countries practicing karate without discrimination by sex, race, religion or origin
of style. Our associated dojos may maintain contact with their original styles or
national or international organizations without conflict of interest.
3. To be a National center for karate values: training of kihon and
preservation of traditional kata, education of good human values in the spirit of
budo and zen philosophy as well as seeking friendship and harmony among all
member dojos from Trinidad and Tobago and other countries and cultures
4. To organize national, regional and international karate events in the
context of a multi-national framework. We will not make karate political and we
will not get involved in the politics of karate bodies of any styles or sections.
Instead, we provide a true alternative for those seeking additional education in
the tradition and true values of karate
5. To encourage and allow anyone regardless of circumstances
(age, physical or financial) to become involved in learning and
receiving the benefits of karate.
